Prof. Satya N. Atluri

Satya N. Atluri is a distinguished and world-renowned scholar based at UCI, where he is the holder of the Samueli/von Karman Chair in Aerospace Engineering. He has been affiliated with a number of universities, including UCLA (Distinguished Professor), Georgia Tech ( Institute Professor, Regents' Professor of Engineering; and Hightower Chair Professor); MIT (Jerome Clarke Hunsaker Professor of Aeronautics); Tsinghua University, Beijing (Honorary Professor); National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan (Tsing Hua Honorary Chair Professor), KAIST, Korea, and others. He is a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences, a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, an Honorary Member of the World Innovation Foundation, an Honorary Fellow of the International Congress on Fracture, and a Fellow of several learned societies, including the American Academy of Mechanics, AIAA , the Aero. Society of India, ASME, and many others. He is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of “CMES: Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences”, Honorary Editor of “Structural Durability & Health Monitoring”, “Computers, Materials, & Continua”, and “Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics”. He has previously served as the Editor/Editorial Boards of 20 other journals. He has authored/ edited over 45 monographs and books; and is an author of over 750 articles in the archival literature, in a variety of engineering, mathematics, and computational modeling journals. He is the Founder of ICCES.
